The Perfume Diaries

This fascinating exhibition on perfumery through the ages was held at Harrods from 28th August to 2nd October. I was lucky enough to visit on a number of days and attend a few of the lectures.

One particular highlight was the lecture on British perfumery, in which the world's most expensive perfume, Clive Christian No. 1, was sprayed into the audience accompanied by music on a grand piano. This piece was written especially to convey the feeling of the scent, which was indeed beautiful and luxurious.
